The two BYHOURS´ partner hotels in the top 100 Best Corporate Hotels list
Two of BYHOURS´partner hoteles, the Hotel Titanic Chaussee Berlin and the Hotel Placid Design & Lifestyle Zurich, have been listed among the top 100 preferred Corporate hotels by the business travel group Egencia, part of Expedia. They was selected based on satisfaction ratings, pricing, desirable amenities for corporate travelers, customer service and overall guest experience in 2018.
To get on the list the hotels must prove to go above and beyond what is expected of them and to put the needs and comfort of business travelers first, offering conveniences such as complimentary breakfast and loyalty points.
Hotel Placid Design & Lifestyle – Zurich
The four-star business hotel: Hotel Placid Design & Lifestyle Zurich is the only hotel in Zurich to make the list of top 100 best corporate hotels. The hotel is a very functional hotel but with a serene aesthetic, with plenty of open space towers over trendy Zurich-West, where it benefits from soaring views as well as peace and quiet.
Due to its location in the urban district of Altstetten in the west of Zurich it is handy for people doing business nearby. However, because it is not in the pure centre of Zurich the location is peaceful and quiet, as well as offering lower rates and 360-degree views across the city.
Design & Functionality
Placid lives up to its name, where it´s design creates a soothing air by a palette of dove grey and oak, soft lighting and inviting communal areas set with comfortable egg chairs create warmth, while the full-height windows are effectively soundproofed, permitting birds-eye views of the city without the bustle.
There are plenty of sharp design details – with exposed concrete walls, contrasted modern shapes with bold color. But, this boldness is softended by imperfect hand-painted tiles in peacock and china blue.
The rooms are designed to all have a view over the city and to be neither too masculine nor feminine, with minimalist custom-made furnishings Other clever details include breakfast tables that swing out over the beds.
There is also a Samsung tablet as a digital concierge in each room.

The Hotel Titanic Chaussee Berlin is the only hotel in Berlin to make the list. The four-star hotel is located in the centre of Berlin, in the heart of Berlinclose, a neighbourhood right on the edge of Berlin’s most creative neighborhood: Hackescher Markt, full of vibrant culture, cutting-edge architecture, food and history.
The design, as seen in the spacious atrium lobby, is overall bright, chic and swanky, mixing comfort with modern aesthethics. The furnishings throughout have a high-quality, designer feel that’s neither overly luxurious nor formal.
The rooms here are upscale and modern, with good-quality furnishings and spacious bathrooms with rain showers. The TVs are large, the desks are generously sized and there’s coffee and tea making facilities in every room.
The hotel has the Titanic Convention Center, with its 2.500m2 features a separate entrance and was designed to host a variety of business and social events such as conventions, exhibitions and conferences as well as dinner parties and weddings for up 1.500 persons.
