London’s Coolest Rooftop Bars

If you’re staying in the city this August, it’s time to bring a touch of summer to your after work drinks. Forget about pints in the dark, stuffy pub and enjoy longer evenings, warmer weather and breathtaking views on one of the many rooftop bars which have popped up across London this year – summer cocktails and spritzes included! Some are year round, some are seasonal, all are unique – and most importantly all are designed with summer vibes in mind.

We’ve picked out some of our favourites spots where you can forget about work, and remind yourself just how great it is living in one of the best cities in the world.

Don’t break up the party to rush for the last train home. Forget the commute – book a microstay in a nearby hotel once the party’s over and get a good night’s sleep without the full day price tag.

Golden Bee, Shoreditch

Head out east for classy rooftop drinks. You’re bound to stay later than planned here thanks to the live DJ’s and extensive cocktail menu which accompany the breathtaking views. Plus don’t miss out on post-work Happy Hour Tuesday to Wednesday!

Pergola on the Roof, Paddington Central

Head to Pergola on the Roof for maximum summer vibe Instagram potential. After their success last summer, the Pergola team have added a second venue in Paddington Central. We’re not sure what’s better, the views from the roof or those of the bar itself! Enjoy both alongside a range of great grub and live music.

Frank’s Cafe, Peckham

If you’re in the south of the city, enjoy spectacular sunset views from Frank’s Cafe. The edgy offbeat bar is a converted multi storey car park, that now serves up summer cocktails including Campari specials and a small but perfectly formed food menu too.

Sushisamba, Moorgate

Not for the vertigo-inclined, Sushisamba is a whopping 38 stories up in the Heron Tower. The must try here is one of their signature cocktails from the bar which features a giant orange tree as a centrepiece, and some of their signature Japanese-Brazilian fusion menu. Dress smart and enjoy the view from the top.

Coq d’Argent, Bank

Among the sea of skyscrapers which make up the City’s skyline, find a splash of green at Coq d’Argent’s rooftop garden. Summer in the city feels a bit like summer in the countryside in this beautifully kept green space. Expect a classy cocktail menu alongside an excellent selection of wine and champagne.
