BYHOURS

Madrid full of different plans for you

Madrid is one of those cities where you will never run out of plans and in BYHOURS we like to be aware of the latest trendy places or events that the city offers us. With the arrival of November and the public holidays it offers us, our list of plans for a different day in the city is going to be very useful for you. Don’t miss it!

Exhibition of the II Photography Competition “Filomena a mi pesar”

One of the most unexpected events of 2021 was on 8 January when Filomena arrived in the city of Madrid and covered it with snow. A situation that had not occurred for years changed the routine of the people of Madrid for a few days, who took advantage of every minute of the day to enjoy the new landscape of their city. To commemorate this unique moment, a photographic competition was held, which is now on display until 9 January 2022 at the Madrid History Museum. We encourage you to take a look at it!

Library of the Escuela Pías

Between Lavapiés and Embajadores, in the heart of Madrid, hides an incredible library with more than 200 years of history. It was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1996 and since then the building has been restored as a library in the style of the Hogwarts School of Magic. So from BYHOURS, we suggest you to enter and get lost in its endless corridors full of books, feeling like a real student of magic.

Rooftop of ‘El Círculo de las Artes’

We know that another of the things that characterize the city of Madrid is its good gastronomy, so we could not miss a recommendation of one of our favourite restaurants. Specialising in Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine, with the occasional nod to exotic dishes, the rooftop of “El Círculo de las Artes”, located on one of the rooftops with the best views of the capital, will delight you with the best views. We warn you: you can’t miss their croquettes or their homemade laing.

To end the day, the best thing to do is to enjoy a few hours of relaxation and disconnection without having to leave the city. Here are some charming hotels that offer their guests unique and exclusive terraces to enjoy watching the sun go down in a different way:

Hotel Aloft Madrid Gran Vía

Located next to Plaza de Callao, this hotel offers you the best services, both in its rooms and in its facilities. To start your micro-stay, nothing better than visiting the WXYZ® Bar, with good music and an extensive cocktail menu.

Hotel Barceló Imagine

A hotel where you can spend 24 hours enjoying its many facilities in the heart of the city centre. An outdoor swimming pool, dreamy gardens and a state-of-the-art panoramic terrace where you can forget the chaos of the big city. The Barceló Imagine and BYHOURS will make you have a micro-vacation in the heart of Madrid for the hours you choose. Are you up for it?

Hotel Vincci Vía 66

Between Plaza España and Puerta del Sol is a hotel designed for those who love art, music and history. Its interiors, in the purest classical style, will transport you to another era, while its rooftop terrace will make you experience a luxurious sunset with views of the statue of Ganymede on the back of the Phoenix. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

There’re undoubtedly many fun things to do during the day in Madrid, whether it’s relaxing in a great hotel thanks to a micro-stay or visiting the most unusual corners of the city. And you can combine them!
